Robert (Bob)'s Story
I am an avid reader of Dale Brown, Clive Cussler, Terry C. Johnston (departed), Dana Fuller Ross, Richard Marchinko, books on historical western fiction, the Civil War, historical themes, and current politics.
I was involved in the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans weekend in Crossville, TN in March 2008. Crossville was the first city and Tennessee the first state to recognize March 28 as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans. Proclamations have been issued and now more than 27 other states have followed suite.
I am enjoying retirement life after being in the military for 20 years and working for the government as an adviser/consultant to management for 16 1/2 years.
My trip to Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the birth place of my father and grandparents is now complete. Medjugorje was a spiritual awakening for me and a cleansing of my soul. Croatia, more specifically, the Dalmatian coast, Split, and the islands of Hvar, where my father and grandparents were born, and Brac, was a sobering reminder of the hardships that they endured in their early lives so that they could make our lives better in a new environment and land. I have developed a family web site, which will go hand-in-hand, with my book on my family, The Face of Change, Saga of the Jerkovich Family. The site iwill always be a work in progress and my cousin Judi Dulcich Kralevich is helping build it. I was just told that I cannot put a web site on this post so if you are interested in viewing what I am developing, email me and I will give you my web site email address.
I am presently in Las Vegas, but will be moving to Germantown, Maryland, to be near my grandchildren. While in the hospital a few weeks ago for congestive heart failure, I asked God for a sign on what I should do with my life. Two days later (still in the hospital), I received a call from my two grandsons and they pleaded with me to come and be near them. That was the sign. So at the end of August, I will be leaving the heat and low humidity of Las Vegas for the heat and high humidity of the mid-Atlantic region.a Will keep you posted.
Oh, my book on my family is starting to come together. I am now at 19 chapters and that should be about it.
Until my next update, God Bless.
